Summer: Combat Heat and Sun Exposure

Understanding the challenges of summer skin: Sun exposure and outdoor activities increase your skin’s contact with UV rays, sweat, chlorine from swimming pools, and saltwater from beach trips. This can lead to sunburn, dehydration, and inflammatory acne. Protecting and nourishing your skin during these months is essential.

Key Summer Skincare Tips:

Sun Protection: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily, even on cloudy days. Reapply every two hours when outdoors, and don’t forget lips, ears, and the tops of feet.

Hydration: Drink plenty of water to hydrate skin from within. Use a lightweight, water-based moisturizer to lock in moisture without adding excess oil.

Exfoliation: Gently exfoliate 1–2 times per week to remove sweat, dirt, and dead skin cells that may clog pores. Avoid over-exfoliation, which can strip natural oils from your skin.

After-Sun Care: If exposed to prolonged sunlight, soothe skin with products containing aloe vera or hyaluronic acid to repair and hydrate.

Autumn: Prepare for Cooler Air

As autumn arrives, air becomes drier and temperatures drop, requiring adjustments in your skincare routine to address new challenges.

Autumn Skincare Adjustments:

Boost Moisture: Switch to richer moisturizers to combat dry air. Look for products with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and natural oils to maintain the skin barrier.

Continue Sun Protection: UV rays remain strong during autumn, so daily sunscreen application is still essential.

Repair Summer Damage: Incorporate antioxidants such as vitamin C to help repair sun damage from summer and improve skin texture and tone.
